The last two weeks have absolutely thrown everything off with so many injuries. These major injuries have opened opportunities for new players. Quarterbacks getting hurt has had a ripple effect on offenses. We also saw the return of Cooper Kupp and Jonathan Taylor. Of course, we then lost Justin Jefferson and De’Von Achane. Many of us already have to go with some options we never thought we would be playing. My Week 6 Fantasy Football Rankings will have all the answers.
Last week was my best week of the year. I finished 27th overall out of the 206 expert consensus rankers. I ranked 9th for Kickers, 10th for Wide Receivers, 12th for running backs, and 12th for Individual Defensive Players. Here are my full positional rankings, my flex rankings, and my starts/sits of the week. Also, there will be some streaming options to bring up.

We are live every Sunday at 11:30 a.m. on our SGPN Fantasy Football YouTube channel. There, you can get injury updates from our resident football doctor. The guys will update you on the news and help you with those tough lineup decisions. Every week, it comes down to the wire for starts and sits. We have your back.
Starts of the Week
QB, Matthew Stafford – LAR vs. AZ
Matthew Stafford had a tough matchup and came in banged up. Stafford now has two top-end options at the wide receiver position, and he gets a plus matchup. Arizona struggles to rush the passer, and Matthew Stafford, with a clean pocket, has been dicing teams up this year. He doesn’t offer any rushing upside, but this is a week where he could really hit for you.
QB, Joe Burrow – CIN vs. SEA
Burrow is finally looking healthy and is coming off of his best game of the year. It was the Cardinals, so that needs to be considered, and his rough start might have you hesitant. He looked good. He was driving the ball down the field and even took off on a few runs. Burrow is back in the trust circle and should be back in your lineup. Ja’Marr Chase is on fire, and the offense didn’t skip a beat without Higgins last week. Start Joe Burrow.
Honorable Mentions: Brock Purdy at CLE, Kirk Cousins vs CHI, Dak Prescott at LAC
RB, Kyren Williams – LAR @ AZ
Kyren Williams came in banged up and had a really tough matchup last week. Don’t give up on him that easy. This is a great matchup, and he comes in healthier. Williams is getting such good volume and very valuable touches in this offense. I do think he is a piece to sell, but I am waiting until after he puts up a ton of points for me this week. Kyren is in for a bounce-back this week.
Kyren Williams has the best odds (over Christian McCaffrey even!) to score a touchdown in Week 6

RB, James Cook – BUF vs. NYG
The Buffalo Bills have a great matchup in a much-needed bounce-back week. James Cook continues to get great volume, and we just saw the Giants let the Dolphins rip off huge runs on them. New York is absolutely banged up, and the Bills will be able to run all over them. Look for James Cook and the other backs to have a good day with short fields and a lot of red zone opportunities Sunday.
Honorable Mentions: Rhamondre Stevenson vs. LV, Zack Moss vs JAX, Emari Demercado at LAR
WR, Josh Downs – IND vs. JAX
Michael Pittman Jr. and Josh Downs are both players you can start this week. Gardner Minshew started one time this year, and he threw the ball 44 times. Pittman continues to get targeted, and Josh Downs sees an increase with Minshew. The last time Minshew started, Downs was targeted 12 times. He has earned his way into top-36 wide receiver and flex territory. Downs has earned his way into the lineup, and the situation this week is ideal.
Most targets for a rookie without a drop this season:

WR, Chris Godwin – TB vs. DET
Mike Evans has dominated the targets this season, but he is limited and may not play. Based on the injury and reports, I am going with Evans doesn’t play. Evans left early during the Saints game, and Godwin went for 8 catches and 114 yards. His high before that was only 58 yards. While Evans is out, Godwin is a must-start.
Honorable Mentions: Jakobi Meyers vs. NE, KJ Osborn vs CHI, Josh Palmer vs DAL
TE, Zach Ertz – AZ @ LAR
Arizona came back to earth last week, and with Conner out, we could see them continue to struggle. But we do continue to see this offense target Zach Ertz and Marquise Brown at a high rate. The Rams allow the 28th most fantasy points to the tight end position. If you play in a point-per-reception (PPR) league, you have been able to start Ertz weekly. He offers a safe floor, getting over six targets a game every week.
Honorable Mentions: Logan Thomas at ATL, Jake Ferguson at LAC, Cade Otton vs. DET
Buffalo Bills vs. New York Giants
The Buffalo Bills are banged up, but you should not hesitate to start them. The New York Giants are not good this year, and they are beat up. Daniel Jones is unlikely to play, and they will feast on Tyrod Taylor behind this terrible offensive line. Bills’ offense will put a lot of pressure on the banged-up Giant’s defense. This could lead to some disaster. Buffalo is my top-ranked defense and special teams unit this week.

Sits of The Week
QB, C.J. Stroud – HOU @ NO
In single-quarterback formats, the Saints are a tough defense for any quarterback. Stroud struggled a bit last week, and I have him outside of my top 15 this week. Tank Dell is expected to miss with a concussion, and there are better options this week. The Saints have held teams to less than 20 points in thirteen of their last fourteen games. He doesn’t offer much on the ground, and the Saints are just a tough matchup.
QB, Derek Carr – LV at HOU
Derek Carr has really not been an upgrade from Andy Dalton to this offense. His shoulder injury has limited him a bit, and he is not throwing the ball down the field like he was in Week 1. Carr was QB14 in Week 1 and QB15 last week. His other three games were QB27, QB32, and QB33. There is zero rushing upside, and after five games, he really hasn’t shown any upside.
Honorable Mentions: Sam Howell at ATL, Jared Goff vs. TB, Joshua Dobbs at LAR
RB, Jerome Ford – CLE vs. SF
Jerome Ford’s production in the passing game has saved him since becoming a starter. His usage does not indicate that he is going to be in that Nick Chubb role, and you should have sold him while you can. This week, you will have to sit him. This is a bad matchup, and they likely have P.J. Walker at quarterback. Deshaun Watson will not be playing, and this offense should really struggle.
RB, Gus Edwards, BAL vs. TEN
The Titans are typically one of the toughest teams to run against; just don’t tell Zack Moss. Edwards has struggled and has not looked the same since coming back from his ACL injury. Justice Hill looks more explosive, and Keaton Mitchell could finally see some time. Baltimore appears to be a team that could add another back this season. Edwards needs a touchdown to be relevant, and unless he does that, you are looking at a 5-8 point week.
Honorable Mentions: Dameon Pierce vs. NO, Miles Sanders at MIA, Keontay Ingram at LAR
WR, Terry McLaurin, WAS at ATL
A.J. Terrell has been traveling, and he has been locking down wide receivers. Sam Howell has not been willing to throw it into tight coverage and has been checking it down. We could see more of Curtis Samuel and Logan Thomas this week. McLaurin was also banged up the last time we saw him and was essentially a decoy at the end of the Chicago game. There are too many good wide receiver options. Terry is a tough play this week.
WR, Quentin Johnston, LAC vs. DAL
I am playing Joshua Palmer, and I am sitting Quentin Johnston until I see anything that makes me change my mind. Johnston saw a big jump in snaps, but it hasn’t resulted in much more opportunities. Austin Ekeler also returns, and the team has multiple tight ends. Johnston should eventually get involved. He is a first-round pick. Let’s not forget that Palmer is a second-rounder, and he has played ahead of Johnston all season.
Honorable Mentions: Jameson Williams at DET, Tutu Atwell vs. AZ, Gabe Davis vs NYG
TE, Darren Waller – NYG @ BUF
Darren Waller is coming off his best game as a Giant, and that is not saying much. He has had pedestrian production all season, and Tyrod Taylor is not going to unlock him. You might be forced to play him, but this week has better streaming options. Waller’s upside is limited in this offense, with very few scoring opportunities.
Honorable Mentions: David Njoku vs. SF, Kyle Pitts vs. WAS, Tyler Higbee vs. AZ
Cleveland Browns @ San Francisco 49ers
The Browns were one of the best defenses in the league, but matchups matter. San Francisco made the Cowboys’ defense look like a high school team last week. They will also be uphill with P.J. Walker at quarterback this week.
Honorable Mentions: Dallas Cowboys at LAC, Seattle Seahawks at CIN, New York Jets vs. PHI
