NBA Picks November 20, 2023
Milwaukee Bucks vs. Washington Wizards
Tipoff – 7:00 pm EST
Spread: Bucks -9
Total: 223.5
The Milwaukee Bucks head to the nation’s capital to take on the Washington Wizards, who possess one of the worst defenses in the entire league, especially in the first quarter. In fact, the Wizards are allowing 31 points per game in their first quarter, and in particular at home, that average goes up to 32.4. Further, the Wizards possess the 2nd worst defensive rating (119.8) in the first quarter of games this season.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks seem to have figured it out offensively over the last few games. In fact, over the last three games, the Bucks are averaging 32.3 points in the first quarter. I will continue fading the Wizards first quarter defense.
Best Bet: Bucks 1Q TT Over 31.5
New York Knicks vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
Tipoff – 8:00 pm EST
Spread: Timberwolves -2.5
Total: 214.5
The Minnesota Timberwolves will welcome the New York Knicks to town in this non-conference matchup. Both of these teams come into this game with a top 5 defensive rating thus far this season. Further, the Minnesota Timberwolves have the best defensive rating in the NBA at home (95.5).
Further, both teams play at a slow pace. In fact, the Knicks play the slowest pace thus far this season. Despite the Knicks having a top 5 offensive rating over the last five games, I believe this game will be a rock fight, and points will be at a premium. The Under is 8-5 this season in Knicks games.
Best Bet: Knicks/Timberwolves Under 214.5
Miami Heat vs. Chicago Bulls
Tipoff – 8:00 pm EST
Spread: Heat -1
Total: 208.5
These two teams matched up on Saturday night in Chicago, where the Bulls came from behind and got the victory over the Heat. The Bulls outscored the Heat 34-21 in the 4th quarter to take the victory. However, I do not like the energy coming from the Bulls. We’ve seen the rumor of Zach Lavine getting traded sooner rather than later.
Since the 2020 season, the Heat are 7-4 SU and 7-4 ATS against the Bulls. I believe the Heat will bounce back here tonight against the Bulls.
Best Bet: Heat -115
YTD Record: 10-5 (66.7%)
