Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – May 15
Jayson Tatum – Higher than 10.5 Rebounds
Tatum may have a playoff rebound average that comes out just below this projection, but that’s due to a few outliers. The vast majority of his games this postseason have been higher than 10.5 rebounds. In fact, six of the last seven games have been with 11+ boards. On top of that, when he entered a game up 3-1 (as will be the case Wednesday night), he had his best rebounding game of the series to close it out.
Max Strus – Lower than 2.5 Three-Pointers Made
Strus just isn’t getting the volume I need to feel comfortable going ‘Higher than’. In this series, he’s shooting 37.0% from three-point, which is just a touch above his season average. However, due to the amount of shots he’s taking, he has only cleared this mark one time. Just once has he taken more than seven three-pointers in a game in this series, which is the same with the series with the Magic.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – Lower than 8.0 1st Quarter Points
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander took over in game four to tie things up at two games a piece. He scored 34 points and filled out the rest of the stat sheet nicely. However, despite all of that, he was cold to start the game. He made just two of five shots in the first quarter. He only took four shots in the game priors. So similarly to Strus, I just don’t like the volume here enough to trust it.
