Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – May 21
Tyrese Haliburton – Lower than 32.5 Pts + Rebs + Asts
While he had a very strong closeout game against the New York Knicks in Game 7 on Sunday, scoring 26 points, I still don’t have faith that Tyrese Haliburton has it all figured out. He shas been very inconsistent and has underperformed these playoffs.
And now he has to go up against the defensive juggernaut that is the Boston Celtics. I don’t think Haliburton, on only one day’s rest, is going to top 32.5 points plus rebounds plus assists in Game 1. He only managed to do so three times in the Knicks series.
Jayson Tatum – Higher than 45.5 Pts + Rebs + Asts
I made this exact same play on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for Game 7 against the Dallas Mavericks, and it came through. Now it’s time for Jayson Tatum to do the same on Tuesday.
While 45.5 points plus rebounds plus assists is a pretty high bar, Tatum cleared it in Game 3 and Game 4 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. And even an injury-depleted Cavaliers team are better defenders than the Indiana Pacers that Tatum is up against starting on Tuesday.
Jaylen Brown – Higher than 9.5 Rebounds + Assists
Finally, let’s count on Tatum’s long-time partner in crime, Jaylen Brown, to have a big Game 1 for the Celtics as well. The play is higher than 9.5 rebounds plus assists for the other Jay.
Brown has managed to beat this total in two of his last three games, and the game that he missed it in he ended up with nine. With the Indiana Pacers playing a much more uptempo style than the Cleveland Cavaliers, Brown should have more opportunities to rack up the stats.
