The Quick Pick: Daily NHL Underdog Fantasy Pick ’em Picks for May 30

Aleksander Barkov Higher Than 0.5 Assists

The Florida Panthers got themselves a massive overtime win in Game 4 just two days ago. Thursday night, they’ll head back North to MSG, where Game 5 will feel like a must-win for both teams. This series has been a hard-fought and highly contested one, so tonight should not be any different. The Quick Pick’s scouts in the NHL Underdog value hunting department have tipped us off on an Aleksander Barkov apple. So, let’s find out why that’s the play to make.
The 28-year-old Finnish center had an outstanding regular season, tallying 23 goals and 57 assists. In fact, in some circles they feel Barkov should be nominated for Best Center in a Supporting Role. Here in the playoffs, he has tallied 11 assists in 15 games played. Barkov also skates into Game 5 tonight on a mini two-game assists streak. So tonight, let’s make it a third time the charm situation. We’re going to take Aleksander Barkov Higher Than 0.5 Assists in enemy territory for Game 5.

Adam Fox Higher Than 0.5 Points

The New York Rangers head back home for Game 5, having taken one of two while in Florida. While that will feel like a success, with the series tied at 2-2, tonight’s game is rather important. One point of interest in this series is that Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin has been in exceptional form. But, for Game 5 we’ve spotted a player who stands tall on the back line for his goaltender. Of course, we’re referring to 26-year-old defenseman and American kid Adam Fox. Fox is coming off a two-assist night in Game 4 down in Sunrise, Florida. That brings him up to three total assists in the Eastern Conference Finals and seven total in the Playoffs. The role Fox plays for his team is an important one. And if the Rangers are going to put pucks past Bobrovsky, they’ll need to be cunning like a “Fox.” Let’s just hope this entry isn’t as terrible as that last pun. Go ahead and press Higher Than 0.5 Assists for Adam Fox, and let’s cash this thing!
