College World Series Picks 6/14 – College Baseball Betting Odds

All College Baseball Bets Are To Win 1 Unit

1 PM CT Virginia vs North Carolina

PROBABLE PITCHERS

Virginia: Evan Blanco SO LHP: 8-3, 3.69 ERA, 95 K, 25 BB, 95.2 IP, 3.28 SIERA

North Carolina: Jason DeCaro FR RHP: 6-1, 3.89 ERA, 72 K, 40 BB, 85.2 IP, 4.48 SIERA

Both offenses are unbelievable. Virginia’s lineup is so deep. All nine of their regulars are batting over .295, but they lack power, especially with expected winds blowing in at 10mph. North Carolina’s centerfielder Vance Honeycutt has won back-to-back ACC Defensive Player of the Year awards.

If the Cavaliers aren’t hitting balls over the wall, their would-be doubles will land in Honeycutt’s glove in the vast outfield of Charles Schwab Field.

All nine hitters in North Carolina’s lineup own a batting average of .280 or higher—six of them over .300, four with an OPS over 1.000. The Tar Heels have the best 1-2-3 of any lineup heading to the College World Series in Omaha. Honeycutt, Casey Cook, and Parks Harber all bat 1-2-3 with 26, 18, and 20 taters each.

The kicker in favor of UNC is that their already great lineup is elite against left-handed pitching. The Tar Heels have a 1.039 Team OPS vs. LHP. If North Carolina is able to chase Blanco from the game before the late innings, the Tar Heels will win this game. Virginia’s bullpen has a 6.03 weekend bullpen ERA, and that’s the one weakness that the Hoos have.

The Bet: -130 North Carolina ML

6 PM CT Florida State vs Tennessee

PROBABLE PITCHERS

Florida State: Jamie Arnold SO LHP 11-3, 2.77 ERA, 155 K, 22 BB, 100.2 IP, 1.63 SIERA

Tennessee: (Opener) Chris Stamos Grad LHP: 3-0, 3.60 ERA / (Long Relief) AJ Causey JR RHP: 12-3, 3.77 ERA, 117 K, 19 BB, 86 IP

Aces are few and far between in this year’s College World Series. Jamie Arnold is one of those Bauers. The 3-quarters sophomore southpaw could shove and single-handedly lead the Seminoles to a win over the No. 1 overall team in the country and maybe the best offense in the nation.

Tennessee Head Coach Tony Vitello is dancing with what brought him to Omaha. The duo of Chris Stamos and AJ Causey works so well because Stamos is a high-slot lefty, and Causey is a right-handed sidewinder. However, Stamos has not been sharp lately. The lefty only goes one time through the batting order, but he has allowed at least one run in his last six appearances.

If the Seminoles scratch across an early run or two against Stamos and Arnold deals, Florida State is more than live to win this game.

The Bet: +143 Florida State ML (BetRivers)
