Blake Hinson (Pitt) Higher Than 15.5 Points
Pitt’s ACC home opener comes against the red-hot Clemson Tigers. Clemson is in a back-to-back road game spot while also having their in-state rival South Carolina on deck. I favor the home team in a plus environment. It sometimes makes opposing defenses not as sharp, and shooters typically have better nights at home.
Blake Hinson is the Panthers’ volume shooter. The 6’8 stretch-4 Senior has gone higher than 15.5 points in six straight games. That streak includes three straight games against high-major opponents where Hinson has averaged 14.7 field goals attempted per game.
Trey Alexander (Creighton) Higher Than 15.5 Points
Next, I’m taking you to the best game of the day. An in-state rivalry matchup between Creighton and Nebraska. Last year, the Cornhuskers defeated the Blue Jays by 10 in Omaha. This year, I think the Blue Jays avenge the loss in Lincoln. Albeit they’re 7-0, Nebraska’s strength of schedule is weak, and they have a poor defensive backcourt.
Trey Alexander has cashed the higher than 15.5 points in 5 of Creighton’s first seven games and both of their games vs high-major opponents. In those five covers he has cleared the 15.5 benchmarks with 20, 20, 20, 21, and 23 point outputs.
Jameson Battle (Ohio State) Higher Than 12.5 Points
This is the ‘Battle Bowl’. Jameson Battle transferred to Ohio State this offseason from Minnesota. Because of the unexpected loss, Minnesota’s lineup now has a massive hole in their 4-spot. The main reason why I think Battle left was because there was already a scoring alpha in the frontcourt in Dawson Garcia, the Golden Gophers center. I’m banking on the fact that Battle will be motivated to play his old team. Also, I kind of expect his new Buckeye teammates to force-feed him the ball a little more often than they do. In all four games in which the former Gopher took at least 12 shots, he finished with at least 12 points.
