Underdog Fantasy College Basketball Picks For December 10th
Underdog Pick Em Record (Est 12/1/2023)
All Pick Em Selections: 12-8-1
Perfect 3-0 Pick Em Entries: 1-6
Tyson Walker (Michigan State) Higher Than 15.5 Points
It feels like Michigan State is in a must-win spot. A loss at Nebraska would drop the Spartans below .500. With their backs against the wall, I expect Head Coach Tom Izzo to rely on his steady performer, Tyson Walker.
Walker will draw either Keisei Tominaga (-0.17) or Brice Williams (-0.19) in most of MSU’s offensive possessions. Tominaga and Williams are both below-average defenders, according to EvanMiya.com’s DBPR. This season Walker has scored more than 15.5 points in all 4 matchups against high majors. On the season, Walker’s higher than 15.5 points is (5-2). This is a smash spot for Sparty and Tyson Walker.
Cody Williams (Colorado) Higher Than 13.5 Points
Colorado heads to Brooklyn, New York, for a huge non-conference tilt against Miami, Florida. The Hurricanes have defended the 3-point line very well so far this season. Miami is holding their opponents to just 25.7% shooting from beyond the arc. However, the Canes’ wing defenders are a big weakness, as none of them excel per DBPR.
Cody Williams isn’t much of a three-point shooter, but he knows how to drive. First, Williams is averaging 17.8 points per game in Colorado’s last four contests. Second, he has scored more than 13.5 points in 4 of his last 6 games. Lastly, Williams has scored more than 13.5 points in both of the Buffaloes’ games against high majors this season.
Dug McDaniel (Michigan) Higher Than 16.5 Points
If you like a lot of points scored in college basketball games, you should enjoy Michigan vs Iowa. Unlike the football game, the basketball game’s total is set at a massive 160.5. KenPom.com has both offenses ranked inside the Top 25, and both defenses ranked outside the Top 130.
In games away from Crisler Center, Dug McDaniel is averaging 20.8 points per game. McDaniel has scored 16.5 or more points five times this season. The average cover margin against 16.5 points for McDaniel this season is a whopping 7.7 points. Opposing point guards are averaging an alarming 24.8 points per game against the Hawkeyes. McDaniel is a true boom-or-bust player, and this is the perfect matchup for it.
