Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – June 14
Luka Doncic – Lower than 50.5 Points + rebounds + Assists
If the Mavericks are going to have any chance to extend this series, it’s going to be on the back of Doncic. However, he just hasn’t been filling out the stat sheet so far in this series. He’s averaging just six assists per game in this series and with the Celtics stingy defense, he’ll need to be all over the boards to come close to this number. He’s been alright there, but with an increased focus on scoring, I don’t think he’ll get enough to hit this projection.
Al Horford – Lower than 9.5 Points
I’ve been all over the ‘Higher than’s for Horford in this series. However, I have to drip into the negativity here for the veteran. In game 3, the Celtics were missing Kristaps Porzingis. That led to extra playing time for Horford – a nine minute uptick as a matter of fact. He still came in under this projection for the second straight game. With a chance to take things home, I doubt they increase his workload. Plus, Porzingis was seen at the shootaround on Thursday – which could spell less burn for Horford.
Dereck Lively II – Higher than 8.0 Rebounds
This has been my go-to for the entirty of these playoffs. His projection has ticked up a few from the 6.0 that it was listed at in game 2. That’s because he went for 13 boards last time out while playing 30 minutes and trying to keep the Mavericks from collapsing. I expect him to overachieve yet again here and wouldn’t be surprised with a double-double.
